Jonathan Hughes is Senior Engineer, Reliability & Validation at The
National Renewable Energy Centre (NaREC)
in Blyth. Jonathan joined Narec in 2008 after completing a
Masters of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at
Newcastle University.
Since joining Narec, Jonathan has been involved in testing a number of
R&D prototype wind and marine generation systems. He also carries out
power quality analysis of prototype marine generators installed in grid
locations, as well as the specification, design, build, installation and
commissioning of the 3MW drive train and 100m blade test facilities and
Offshore Anemometry Platform.
Jonathan has also been involved in the testing and proving of all the
electrical instrumentation systems within the 15MW drive train test facility
and anemometry platform and works with clients to create bespoke real-time
and off-line data analysis and manipulation programmes to suit their
testing requirements.
